Because we LOVE Fashion Week & FNO

Created by the fabulous Anna Wintour [Editor of Vogue Magazine] and the Diane Von Furstenberg, FNO or Fashion's Night Out has been one of the most popular, fun, and fashionable events in the history of the commercial fashion world as we know it today. It is traditionally the first night of Spring | Summer Fashion Week (held the first week of September) and allows for participating stores to have sales, give away free merchandise, and host parties for designers/ celebrities to come and celebrate the beginning of fashion week.

According to the FNO's Official Website, the purpose of FNO is "to celebrate fashion, restore consumer confidence, and boost the industry's economy." It is not only held in NYC (it's origin) but has also expanded to other cities that have their own fashion weeks (i.e Washington D.C).

Unfortunately, according to sources such as Rolling Stone Magazine, FNO in the US has been put on "hiatus," in effort to "redirect" the profit made to other "priorities"> as Rolling Stone puts it.

Here's where we and you guys come in. As college students in NYC and now religious attendees and lovers of Fashion Week in NYC, my friends and I feel very strongly about the cancellation of this traditional NYFW event. One of my best friends, Lilly, has created a petition to bring back FNO for the US in Fall 2013.

Whether you appreciate fashion, wear fashionable things, or love fashion with all your heart like we do, please take the time to sign this petition to help bring back this event.

So for the sake of beautiful Dolce and Gabbana jackets, Oscar de la Renta gowns, Diane Von Furstenberg prints, and all of the allure and wonderment that NYFW has to offer, please consider signing and spreading the word.

“Love is not love which alters when it alteration finds.”

Cheers, x
